This sweep incorporates a rope which is attached to one side of the sorbent material. This allows the sorbent to be drawn across a body of water to recover any spilled petroleum product. Sorbent sweep will absorb hydrocarbon-based liquids while repel aqueous-based liquids. Excellent for sweeping rainbow sheens and other thin oil based slicks on water where mechanical skimmers tend to fail.
